    Hi,

i just checked the different Altec cabinets.
I found out that Altec recommend the 416-8A for the 612c enclosure:

    612c spec sheet

    Here is the plan:

    612c enclosure plan

I would like to use the horn externaly, so it seems a nice enclosure for my 416-8A.
Did anyone tried this enclosure with the 416 before?

as i understand correctly, the 612C enclosure was designed for the 604, which has the same "bass motor" than the 515/416, so it could work, couldn't it?

    Kind Regards

    Barossi

In your signature, you mention you use SET amplifiers. If that is the case, for better bass response, I would suggest a larger cabinet than the 612 which is about 6cu' or so. If you have the space, I would use 10cu' or 280l and tune the port to about 30hz.

    Hi Ed,

    thanks for your reply!

Yes i am pushing my speaker with single ended stuff!
    Space is not an issue.
I could not figure out the cabinet size of a Altec Model 19. The scans from Jeff's homepage are not good enough.... forums

So, i would like to build a big + massive enclosure for my 416-8a/b...

    Kind Regards

    Barossi
